Section 1(1) of the Medicines Act 1968 shall be amended as follows.

In the definition of “the Agriculture Ministers”, for the words “Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food” there shall be substituted “Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs”.

In the definition of “the Ministers”—
a
after the words “all the Ministers” there shall be inserted “for Northern Ireland”; and
b
after the word “subsection” there shall be inserted “and the Secretary of State”.

Section 5 of that Act shall be amended as follows.

In subsection (2) after the word “Ministers”, where it appears for the second time, there shall be inserted “specified in paragraphs (a) and (b) of section 1(1) of this Act”.

In subsection (3) after the word “Ministers” there shall be inserted “specified in paragraphs (a) and (b) of section 1(1) of this Act”.
