Whereas a draft of this Order has been laid before, and approved by a resolution of, each House of Parliament:
Now, therefore, in exercise of the power conferred upon him by paragraph 16(1) of Schedule 7 to the Terrorism Act 2000(1), the Secretary of State hereby makes the following Order:
Citation and commencement
1. This Order may be cited as the Terrorism Act 2000 (Carding) Order 2001 and shall come into force on 19th February 2001.
Card and information
2. A person to whom paragraph 16 of Schedule 7 to the Terrorism Act 2000 applies shall, if required to do so by an examining officer, complete and produce to the officer a card containing such information in such form as is specified
(a)in the case of a person who disembarks from a ship or aircraft, in Part I of the Schedule to this Order or,
(b)in the case of a person who embarks on a ship or aircraft, in Part II of the Schedule.

Explanatory Note
(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order, which is made under paragraph 16 of Schedule 7 to the Terrorism Act 2000, requires certain persons, if so required by an examining officer under the Act, to provide such information, and in such form, as is specified in the Schedule to the Order. The persons in question are those who disembark or embark at a sea or air port in Great Britain or Northern Ireland from or, as the case may be, on a ship or aircraft travelling between Great Britain, Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands, the Isle of Man, or the Republic of Ireland.
