9Clergy Conduct Commission: functions(1)

The Clergy Conduct Commission must—

(a)

give general advice to bishop’s disciplinary tribunals and each Vicar-General’s court, and to bishops and each archbishop, on penalties or other types of order which would be appropriate in particular circumstances;

(b)

oversee the training and professional standards of persons exercising functions for the purpose of this Measure;

(c)

make an annual report on the exercise of its functions during the previous year to the General Synod through the House of Bishops.

(2)

The Commission must issue in the form of a Code of Practice guidance on the operation of the system provided by this Measure.

(3)

The Commission must also issue general policy guidance for the purposes of this Measure.

(4)

The Commission may amend or replace guidance issued under this section and, if it does so, must issue the guidance in its amended or replacement form.

(5)

Before issuing guidance under this section, the Commission must obtain the approval of the Dean of the Arches and Auditor and the President of Tribunals.

(6)

The Commission has such other functions as are conferred by or under this or any other Measure.
