EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

These Regulations bring into force on 6 January 2025 all of the provisions of the Housing (Cladding Remediation) (Scotland) Act 2024 (“the Act”), so far as not already in force.

The Bill for the Act received Royal Assent on 21 June 2024. By virtue of section 39(1) of the Act, sections 32, 33, 34, 35, 36, 37, 38, 39 and 40 came into force on the day after Royal Assent.

Regulation 3 amends the definition of “reporting period” in section 30(4) of the Act by substituting 6 January 2025 for a reference to the day on which that section comes into force.
