Coming into force
The Scottish Ministers make the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 25(2) of the Tied Pubs (Scotland) Act 20211.

Citation and commencement1.

These Regulations may be cited as the Tied Pubs (Scotland) Act 2021 (Commencement No. 2) Regulations 2024 and come into force on 24 June 2024.

Appointed Day2.

The day appointed for the coming into force of the Tied Pubs (Scotland) Act 2021, so far as not already in force, is 24 June 2024.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Regulations)

These Regulations bring into force the Tied Pubs (Scotland) Act 2021 (“the Act”) so far as not already in force, on 24 June 2024.

The Bill for the Act received Royal Assent on 5 May 2021. Section 3 (duty to act consistently with regulatory principles), section 4 (Scottish Ministers’ duty to seek to make code and appoint adjudicator), section 5 (review of the code and adjudicator’s performance), Part 3 (interpretation) and Part 4 (final provisions) came into force on the following day.

The Tied Pubs (Scotland) Act 2021 (Commencement No. 1) Regulations 2024 commenced sections 2 (Scottish Pubs Code Adjudicator), 13 (investigation policy) and schedule 2 (Scottish Pubs Code Adjudicator) of the Act on 30 April 2024.
