The Producer Responsibility Obligations (Packaging Waste) Amendment (Scotland) Regulations 2022
The Scottish Ministers have consulted in accordance with paragraph 8 of schedule 4 of the Act and are satisfied as to the matters specified in paragraph 9(1) of schedule 4 of the Act.
Citation, commencement and extent1.
(1)
These Regulations may be cited as the Producer Responsibility Obligations (Packaging Waste) Amendment (Scotland) Regulations 2022 and come into force on 1 January 2023.

These Regulations extend to Scotland only.

These Regulations amend the Producer Responsibility Obligations (Packaging Waste) Regulations 2007 (S.I. 2007/871). Those Regulations impose on producers obligations to recycle packaging waste in order to attain overall recycling and material-specific recycling targets.
These Regulations set an overall recycling target as well as material-specific recycling targets for 2023 on obligated producers in Scotland in relation to glass, plastic, aluminium, steel, paper/board and wood.
