3. For the purposes of these Regulations, an eligible child is one who—
(a)is a pre-school child, and
(b)receives a service from a [F1registered childcare provider].

Commencement Information
4.—(1) For the purposes of these Regulations, a childcare provider is a provider of a childcare service where that service appears on the register of care services maintained by SCSWIS by virtue of regulation 5 of the Social Care and Social Work Improvement Scotland (Registration) Regulations 2011(1).
(2) For the purpose of paragraph (1) “childcare service” means—
(a)day care of children, or
(b)child minding.
