Citation and commencement1.
These Regulations may be cited as the Social Security Administration and Tribunal Membership (Scotland) Act 2020 (Commencement No. 4) Regulations 2021 and come into force on 20 October 2021.
Appointed day2.
20 October 2021 is the day appointed for the coming into force of section 8 (transitional provision in consequence of section 7) of the Social Security Administration and Tribunal Membership (Scotland) Act 2020.

These Regulations bring into force section 8 of the Social Security Administration and Tribunal Membership (Scotland) Act 2020 on 20 October 2021. Section 8 makes transitional provision in relation to section 7 of that Act. Section 7 modifies sections 77 and 78 of the Social Security (Scotland) Act 2018 (“the 2018 Act”) which provide for the duty to consider the effects of inflation and the value of assistance and renumbers them as sections 86A and 86B. Section 8 provides that anything done under section 77 or 78 of the 2018 Act is to be treated as having been done under section 86A or 86B, respectively, and for any references to section 77 or 78 of the 2018 Act to be read accordingly.
