Citation and commencement1.
These Regulations may be cited as the Social Security Administration and Tribunal Membership (Scotland) Act 2020 (Commencement No. 3) Regulations 2021 and come into force on 11 October 2021.
Appointed day2.
11 October 2021 is the day appointed for the coming into force of section 7 (uprating for inflation) of the Social Security Administration and Tribunal Membership (Scotland) Act 2020.

These Regulations bring into force section 7 of the Social Security Administration and Tribunal Membership (Scotland) Act 2020 on 11 October 2021. Section 7 modifies sections 77 and 78 of the Social Security (Scotland) Act 2018 which provide for the duty to consider the effects of inflation on the value of assistance given under that Act and the duty to uprate certain types of assistance annually. Scottish Child Payment is added to the list of types of assistance to which the duty to uprate applies.
The Bill for that Act received Royal Assent on 10 November 2020. In accordance with section 18(1) of that Act, sections 1, 4, 5, 6, 14, 17, 18 and 19 came into force the following day.
