The UEFA European Championship (Scotland) Act 2020 provides that the Championship period for the purposes of that Act means the period of not more than 42 days, and ending not later than 31 December 2022, specified in regulations made by the Scottish Ministers. These Regulations specify that the Championship period is the period beginning on 31 May 2021 and ending on 11 July 2021.
These Regulations make a transitory provision to the effect that for the purposes of the UEFA European Championship (Scotland) Act 2020 during the Championship period as specified in regulation 2 of these Regulations only the Hampden Park zone is an event zone.
Consequential to the transitory provision, these Regulations also amend the definition of “event zone” included in the UEFA European Championship (Trading and Advertising) (Scotland) Regulations 2020 and omit the maps of the George Square zone and the Merchant City zone set out in schedule 3 of those Regulations.
