The South of Scotland Enterprise Act 2019 (Commencement and Transitional Provision) Amendment Regulations 2020

Coming into force
The Scottish Ministers make the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 23(1) and 24(2) of the South of Scotland Enterprise Act 20191.

Citation and commencement1.

These Regulations may be cited as the South of Scotland Enterprise Act 2019 (Commencement and Transitional Provision) Amendment Regulations 2020 and come into force on 31 March 2020.

Amendment of the South of Scotland Enterprise Act 2019 (Commencement and Transitional Provision) Regulations 20192.

(1)

The South of Scotland Enterprise Act 2019 (Commencement and Transitional Provision) Regulations 20192 are amended as follows.

(2)

For regulation 3, substitute—

“3.

(1)

The day appointed for the coming into force of section 20(1) of the Act is 1 June 2020.

(2)

The day appointed for the coming into force of all provisions of the Act other than section 20(1) which are not already commenced for all purposes by virtue of regulation 2 or in accordance with section 24(1) of the Act, is 1 April 2020.”.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Regulations)

These Regulations amend the South of Scotland Enterprise Act 2019 (Commencement and Transitional Provision) Regulations 2019 by postponing the date of commencement of section 20(1) of the South of Scotland Enterprise Act 2019 from 1 April 2020 to 1 June 2020.

Section 20 of that Act provides for the date on which property (including rights) and liabilities of Scottish Enterprise are to transfer to South of Scotland Enterprise.
