The Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 (EU Exit) (Scotland) (Amendment) Regulations 2019

Coming into force in accordance with regulation 1
The Scottish Ministers make the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by paragraph 1(1) and (3) of schedule 2 of the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 20181 and all other powers enabling them to do so.
Citation and commencement1.
These Regulations may be cited as the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 (EU Exit) (Scotland) (Amendment) Regulations 2019 and come into force on exit day.
Amendment of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 19812.
In section 27(1) of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 19812, in the definition of “wild bird”, after “visitor to” insert “the United Kingdom or”.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Regulations)
These Regulations are made in exercise of the powers conferred by paragraph 1(1) and (3) of schedule 2 of the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018. Regulation 2 amends the definition of “wild bird” in section 27(1) of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 to address a deficiency arising from the withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union.
