Coming into force
The Scottish Ministers make the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 59(6)(a) of the Criminal Proceedings etc. (Reform) (Scotland) Act 20071 and all other powers enabling them to do so.

In accordance with section 59(7B) of that Act, the Scottish Ministers have had regard to a proposal of the Scottish Courts and Tribunals Service for the making of this Order.

In accordance with section 59(7C) of that Act, the Lord President and the Scottish Courts and Tribunals Service have given consent to the making of the Order.

In accordance with section 81(3)(a) of that Act, a draft of this instrument has been laid before, and approved by resolution of, the Scottish Parliament.

Citation and commencement1.

This Order may be cited as the Justice of the Peace Courts (Sheriffdom of South Strathclyde, Dumfries and Galloway) etc. Amendment Order 2019 and comes into force on 8 June 2019.

Relocation of the justice of the peace court for the sheriff court district of Airdrie2.

In column 2 of schedule 1 (establishment of justice of the peace courts) of the Justice of the Peace Courts (Sheriffdom of South Strathclyde, Dumfries and Galloway) etc. Order 20092, for “Coatbridge” substitute “Airdrie”.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order relocates the justice of the peace court for the sheriff court district of Airdrie from Coatbridge to Airdrie.

Article 2 of the Order amends the Justice of the Peace Courts (Sheriffdom of South Strathclyde, Dumfries and Galloway) etc. Order 2009 to effect this relocation.
