Citation and commencement1.
These Regulations may be cited as the Representation of the People (Absent Voting at Local Government Elections) (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 2017 and come into force on 23rd April 2017.

on grounds relating to the applicant’s occupation, service or employment and the applicant became aware of those grounds after 5 p.m. on the sixth day before the date of the poll at the election for which it is made;”.

These Regulations amend regulation 11 of the Representation of the People (Absent Voting at Local Government Elections) (Scotland) Regulations 2007. They allow for an application for a proxy vote to be accepted if received no later than 5 p.m. on the day of the poll where the application is made on grounds relating to the applicant’s occupation, service or employment and the applicant became aware of those grounds after 5 p.m. on the sixth day before the poll.
