The Scottish Tribunals (Eligibility for Appointment) Amendment Regulations 2017
Citation, commencement and interpretation1.
(1)
These Regulations may be cited as the Scottish Tribunals (Eligibility for Appointment) Amendment Regulations 2017 and come into force on 2nd October 2017.

Amendment of the 2015 Regulations2.
(1)
The 2015 Regulations are amended in accordance with paragraph (2).

“Eligibility for appointment as an ordinary member of the First-tier Tribunal for Scotland (health and education experience)3A.
A person is eligible for appointment as an ordinary member of the First-tier Tribunal for Scotland if the person has knowledge and experience of children or young persons with—
(a)
additional support needs within the meaning of section 1(1) of the Education (Additional Support for Learning) (Scotland) Act 20043; or(b)
a disability within the meaning of section 6 of the Equality Act 20104.Eligibility for appointment as an ordinary member of the First-tier Tribunal for Scotland (charity regulatory experience)3B.
A person is eligible for appointment as an ordinary member of the First-tier Tribunal for Scotland if the person has knowledge and experience in accounting or governance of public or private bodies or charities.”.

These Regulations amend the Scottish Tribunals (Eligibility for Appointment) Regulations 2015 to provide eligibility criteria for appointment of ordinary members of the First-tier Tribunal in respect of health and education experience and charity regulatory experience.
