Amendment of the Scottish Local Government Elections Order 2011 S

2.  Schedule 1 (Scottish Local Government Elections Rules) to the Scottish Local Government Elections Order 2011(1) is amended as follows—

(a) in rule 23(1) (appointment of presiding officers and clerks), for “shall not appoint” substitute “shall not knowingly appoint”;

(b) in rule 27(11)(b) (requirement of secrecy), for “age of 18” substitute “age of 16”;

(c) in rule 28(1)(b) and (2) (admission to polling station), for “age of 18” substitute “age of 16”;

(d) in rule 35(3)(b) (voting by persons with disabilities), for “age of 18” substitute “age of 16”;

(e) in rule 41 (attendance at counting of votes), after paragraph (1) insert—

“(1A) In making arrangements under paragraph (1), the returning officer shall not knowingly appoint or employ any person who has been employed by or on behalf of a candidate in or about the election.”; F1 ...
