Coming into force
The Scottish Ministers make the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 5(2) to (4) of the Apologies (Scotland) Act 20161 and all other powers enabling them to do so.
Citation, commencement and interpretation1

These Regulations may be cited as the Apologies (Scotland) Act 2016 (Commencement and Transitory Provision) Regulations 2016 and come into force on 22nd September 2016.

In these Regulations “the Act” means the Apologies (Scotland) Act 2016.
Appointed days2

22nd September 2016 is the day appointed for the coming into force of section 2(4) to (6) of the Act.
2
19th December 2016 is the day appointed for the coming into force of all remaining provisions of the Act insofar as not already in force.
