Coming into force
The Scottish Ministers make the following Order in exercise of the power conferred by section 145(2) of the Community Empowerment (Scotland) Act 20151.
Citation and commencement1.
This Order may be cited as the Community Empowerment (Scotland) Act 2015 (Commencement No. 1) Order 2015 and comes into force on 31st October 2015.
Appointed day2.
31st October 2015 is the day appointed for the coming into force of section 140 (schemes for reduction and remission of non-domestic rates) of the Community Empowerment (Scotland) Act 2015.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Order)
Sections 141 to 143, 145 and 146 of the Community Empowerment (Scotland) Act 2015 came into force on 25th July 2015, being the day after Royal Assent.
This Order brings section 140 of the Act into force on 31st October 2015. That section enables rating authorities to make schemes for the reduction and remission of non-domestic rates.
