The Non-Domestic Rating (Valuation of Utilities) (Scotland) Amendment Order 2014

Coming into force

The Scottish Ministers make the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 6A(1)(aa) and 6A(1B) of the Valuation and Rating (Scotland) Act 19561 and all other powers enabling them to do so.

In accordance with section 6A(1D) of that Act2 they have consulted with such associations of local authorities and such other persons as they think appropriate.

Citation and commencement1

This Order may be cited as the Non-Domestic Rating (Valuation of Utilities) (Scotland) Amendment Order 2014 and comes into force on 28th April 2014.

Amendment of the Non-Domestic Rating (Valuation of Utilities) (Scotland) Order 20052

The Non-Domestic Rating (Valuation of Utilities) (Scotland) Order 20053 is amended as follows.

In the table forming part of article 7A(2) (fixed line telecommunications)4—

a

in the first column (company name), in the appropriate places alphabetically, insert—

i

“Everything Everywhere Limited”;

ii

“Hutchison 3G UK Limited”; and

iii

“Vodafone Limited”; and

b

as the corresponding respective entries in the second column (registration number) insert—

i

“08263590”;

ii

“03885486”; and

iii

“01471587”.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order amends the Non-Domestic Rating (Valuation of Utilities) (Scotland) Order 2005 (“the 2005 Order”).

Article 2 of this Order inserts three companies as a “fixed line operator” for the purposes of article 7A of the 2005 Order which makes provision for the treatment in the valuation roll of lands and heritages within the fixed line telecommunications industry.
