The Firemen’s Pension Scheme (Amendment) (Scotland) Order 2014

Coming into force

The Scottish Ministers make the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 26(1) to (5) of the Fire Services Act 19471 and all other powers enabling them to do so.

Citation, commencement and extent1

This Order may be cited as the Firemen’s Pension Scheme (Amendment) (Scotland) Order 2014.

This Order comes into force on 1st April 2014.

This Order extends to Scotland only.

Amendment of the Firemen’s Pension Scheme Order 1992

Schedule 2 to the Firemen’s Pension Scheme Order 19922 is amended in accordance with article 3.

For the Table in paragraph 3 of Part 1A of Schedule 8 (pension contributions), substitute—

Pensionable pay

Contribution rate from 1st April 2014

Up to and including £15,000

11.0% of pensionable pay

More than £15,000 and up to and including £21,000

12.2% of pensionable pay

More than £21,000 and up to and including £30,000

14.2% of pensionable pay

More than £30,000 and up to and including £40,000

14.7% of pensionable pay

More than £40,000 and up to and including £50,000

15.2% of pensionable pay

More than £50,000 and up to and including £60,000

15.5% of pensionable pay

More than £60,000 and up to and including £100,000

16.0% of pensionable pay

More than £100,000 and up to and including £120,000

16.5% of pensionable pay

More than £120,000

17.0% of pensionable pay

This Order changes as from 1st April 2014 the pension contribution rates of firefighters in Scotland who are members of the Scheme set out in the Firemen’s Pension Scheme Order 1992.
