Coming into force

The Scottish Ministers make the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 18 of the Criminal Law (Consolidation) (Scotland) Act 19951 and all other powers enabling them to do so.

Citation and commencement1

This Order may be cited as the Sports Grounds and Sporting Events (Designation) (Scotland) Amendment Order 2014 and comes into force on 2nd February 2015.

Amendment of the Sports Grounds and Sporting Events (Designation) (Scotland) Order 20142

The Sports Grounds and Sporting Events (Designation) (Scotland) Order 20142 is amended as follows.

In Schedule 1 (sports grounds)—

a

omit the following entries—

Murrayfield Stadium

Edinburgh

Recreation Park

Alloa; and

b

insert the following entries at the appropriate places—

BT Murrayfield Stadium

Edinburgh

East Peffermill

Edinburgh

The Indodrill Stadium

Alloa

Lochburn Park

Glasgow.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order amends the Sports Grounds and Sporting Events (Designation) (Scotland) Order 2014 (“the 2014 Order”). The 2014 Order designates sports grounds, classes of sporting events played at those grounds and classes of sporting events outside Great Britain for the purposes of Part II of the Criminal Law (Consolidation) (Scotland) Act 1995 (sporting events: control of alcohol etc.).

Article 2(2) of this Order makes changes to the designated sporting grounds in the 2014 Order to reflect changes to the name of the home ground of Alloa Athletic F.C. and of Scotland’s national rugby stadium. Article 2(2) also adds East Peffermill, Edinburgh and Lochburn Park, Glasgow to the list of designated sporting grounds.
