EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order designates 194 separate places as seal haul-out sites for the purposes of section 117 of the Marine (Scotland) Act 2010. Harassing a seal (intentionally or recklessly) at a haul-out site is an offence (section 117). The places are the areas of land above mean low water spring tide that fall within the areas of water and land that are described in the Schedule.
