The Victims and Witnesses (Scotland) Act 2014 (Commencement No. 1) Order 2014
Citation, commencement and interpretation1.

This Order may be cited as the Victims and Witnesses (Scotland) Act 2014 (Commencement No. 1) Order 2014 and comes into force on 16th May 2014.

In this Order, “the Act” means the Victims and Witnesses (Scotland) Act 2014.
Provisions coming into force on 16th May 20142.
The day appointed for the coming into force of section 31(2) (NCF: constitution and operation) of the Act so far as it inserts paragraphs 3, 7(3) to (6) and 14 of the new schedule 1A is 16th May 2014.
Provisions coming into force on 1st July 20143.
Insofar as not already in force, the day appointed for the coming into force of sections 30 (National Confidential Forum) and 31 of the Act is 1st July 2014.

This Order brings into force the National Confidential Forum provisions of the Victims and Witnesses (Scotland) Act 2014 (“the Act”). The National Confidential Forum is a committee of the Mental Welfare Commission with functions relating to persons who were placed in institutional care as children.
The Bill for the Act received Royal Assent on 17th January 2014. Sections 30 and 31 were partially commenced by operation of section 34 of the Act on the day after Royal Assent.
