The Environmental Protection (Restriction on Use of Lead Shot) (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 2013
In accordance with section 140(6)(b) of that Act, they have published notices in the London Gazette and in the Edinburgh Gazette and have considered representations made to them in accordance with those notices.
Citation and commencement1.
These Regulations may be cited as the Environmental Protection (Restriction on Use of Lead Shot) (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 2013 and come into force on 31st January 2014.

Lead shot may be used by the persons specified in paragraph (2) during the period beginning on 1st July 2014 and ending on 29th July 2014 in the Barry Buddon Training Area, Barry, Carnoustie, DD7 7RY for the purposes of, or in connection with, the clay target event at the Commonwealth Games 2014 (including for the purposes of training for that event).

The persons specified are the competitors in that event, any persons acting as reserve shot gun fillers, and any persons involved in the testing of equipment.”.

These Regulations amend the Environmental Protection (Restriction on Use of Lead Shot) (Scotland) (No. 2) Regulations 2004 (which prohibit the use of lead shot for the purpose of shooting with a shot gun on or over wetlands) to create an exception in respect of the clay target event at the Commonwealth Games 2014.
