The Further and Higher Education (Scotland) Act 2005 (“the Act”) established the Scottish Further and Higher Education Funding Council and made provision relating to the funding of bodies which provide further and higher education. Those bodies are described in the Act as “fundable bodies” and are listed in schedule 2 to the Act.
The instrument updates that schedule to reflect changes of name of a number of institutions—
Aberdeen College of Further Education has changed its name to North East Scotland College (article 2(a) and (k))
Ayr College has changed its name to Ayrshire College (article 2(b))
Cardonald College has changed its name to Glasgow Clyde College (article 2(c) and (h))
Carnegie College has changed its name to Fife College (article 2(c) and (g))
Clydebank College has changed its name to West College Scotland (article 2(c) and (m))
Dundee College has changed its name to Dundee and Angus College (article 2(d))
Edinburgh’s Telford College has changed its name to Edinburgh College (article 2(e))
Motherwell College has changed its name to New College Lanarkshire (article 2(j))
North Glasgow College has changed its name to Glasgow Kelvin College (article 2(h) and (l))
The Scottish Agricultural College has changed its name to SRUC (article 2(n)).
Article 2(a), (c), (f), (i) and (l) also remove various entries from that schedule to reflect transfers of property, rights, liabilities and obligations to other fundable bodies and consequential closures of institutions.
