The Children’s Hearings (Scotland) Act 2011 (Commencement No. 8) Order 2013
Citation, commencement and interpretation1.

This Order may be cited as the Children’s Hearings (Scotland) Act 2011 (Commencement No. 8) Order 2013 and comes into force on 12th June 2013.

In this Order—
“the Act” means the Children’s Hearings (Scotland) Act 2011; and
Appointed day2.

The day appointed for the coming into force of section 203(1) of the Act (consequential amendments and repeals) for the purpose of giving effect to the amendments to the 1995 Act which are made by paragraph 2(8) of schedule 5 to the Act is 12th June 2013 but only for the purpose specified in paragraph 2.

The purpose specified is to enable the Scottish Ministers to make regulations under section 75 of the 1995 Act but only where such regulations will come into force on or after the date on which section 152 of the Act comes into force.

This Order brings into force on 12th June 2013 section 203(1) of the Children’s Hearings (Scotland) Act 2011 (“the Act”) for the purpose of giving effect to paragraph 2(8) of schedule 5 to the Act. Paragraph 2(8) amends section 75 of the Children (Scotland) Act 1995 and is given effect for the purpose of enabling the Scottish Ministers to make regulations under that section where such regulations will come into force on or after the date on which section 152 of the Act comes into force.
The Children’s Hearings (Scotland) Act 2011 received Royal Assent on 6th January 2011 and Part 20 (other than section 203) came into force on that day. The provisions of the Act commenced by earlier commencement orders are detailed in the table below.
