The Representation of the People (Post-Local Government Elections Supply and Inspection of Documents) (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 2012

Coming into force
The Scottish Ministers make the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 5(5) of the Local Electoral Administration and Registration Services (Scotland) Act 20061 and all other powers enabling them to do so.
In accordance with section 61(4)(a) of that Act2, a draft of these Regulations has been laid before, and approved by resolution of, the Scottish Parliament.

Citation and commencement1.

These Regulations may be cited as the Representation of the People (Post-Local Government Elections Supply and Inspection of Documents) (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 2012 and come into force on 3rd May 2012.

Fees relating to the supply of marked registers and lists2.

(1)

The Representation of the People (Post-Local Government Elections Supply and Inspection of Documents) (Scotland) Regulations 20073 are amended as follows.

In regulation 6, for “calculated” to the end, substitute—

“the sum of £10, plus for a copy—

(a)

in printed form, £2 for each 1,000 entries (or remaining part of 1,000 entries) covered by the request; and

(b)

in data form, £1 for each 1,000 entries (or remaining part of 1,000 entries) covered by the request,

and, for the purposes of this regulation, a request for a copy of the whole or the same part of the marked register or lists in both printed and data form may be treated as two separate requests.”.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Regulations)

These Regulations make provision about the fees to be charged for the supply of copies of marked copies of the electoral register and some lists, following a local government election.

The fees are being reduced, to bring them into line with the fees charged for equivalent copy documents following elections to the UK  Parliament and Scottish Parliament.
