Coming into force
The Scottish Ministers make the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 16(1) of the Public Records (Scotland) Act 20111.

Citation and commencement1.

This Order may be cited as the Public Records (Scotland) Act 2011 (Commencement No. 2) Order 2012 and comes into force on 1st January 2013.

Appointed day2.

1st January 2013 is the appointed day for Parts 1 and 2 of the Public Records (Scotland) Act 2011 to come into force, in so far as they are not then in force.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order brings into force on 1st January 2013 all the provisions of Parts 1 and 2 of the Public Records (Scotland) Act 2011 (“the Act”) which are not already in force.

The Act received Royal Assent on 20th April 2011 and Part 3 of the Act came into force on that day.
