In terms of paragraph 6 of Schedule 1 to the Town and Country Planning (Scotland) Act 1997 the provisions of that local plan would, but for this Order, cease to have effect on the adoption of the South Lanarkshire Minerals Local Development Plan so far as that local plan relates to the area to which the South Lanarkshire Minerals Local Development Plan relates. 2 The Scottish Ministers direct that, notwithstanding the adoption of the South Lanarkshire Minerals Local Development Plan, the whole provisions of the South Lanarkshire Local Plan shall continue in force to full effect in relation to the area to which the South Lanarkshire Minerals Local Development Plan relates. The proposed South Lanarkshire Minerals Local Development Plan was published and South Lanarkshire Council’s intention to adopt it was advertised on 18thApril 2012 in accordance with section19(10) of the Town and County Planning (Scotland) Act 1997. The South Lanarkshire Local Plan was adopted by South Lanarkshire Council on 23rdMarch 2009.
