The Water Services etc. (Scotland) Act 2005 (Commencement No. 6) Order 2012
Citation and commencement1.
This Order may be cited as the Water Services etc. (Scotland) Act 2005 (Commencement No. 6) Order 2012 and comes into force on 22nd July 2012.
Appointed Day2.
22nd July 2012 is the day appointed for the coming into force of paragraph 7(5) of schedule 5 to the Water Services etc. (Scotland) Act 2005.

This Order appoints 22nd July 2012 for the coming into force of paragraph 7(5) of schedule 5 to the Water Services etc. (Scotland) Act 2005 (“the 2005 Act”).
That provision repeals section 40 of the Water Industry (Scotland) Act 2002 (asp 3) (“the 2002 Act”), which empowered the Scottish Ministers to make regulations reducing the charges payable by certain persons under section 37 of that Act. Provision for reduced charges is now made through the Ministers’ statement of policy regarding charges that is issued to Scottish Water and the Water Industry Commission for Scotland under section 29D of the 2002 Act.
The following provisions of the 2005 Act were brought into force by the Water Services etc. (Scotland) Act 2005 (Commencement No. 1 and Savings) Order 2005 (S.S.I. 2005/351), the Water Services etc. (Scotland) Act 2005 (Commencement No. 2) Order 2006 (S.S.I. 2006/40), the Water Services etc. (Scotland) Act 2005 (Commencement No. 3 and Savings) Order 2006 (S.S.I. 2006/167), the Water Services etc. (Scotland) Act 2005 (Commencement No. 4) Order 2006 (S.S.I. 2006/445) and the Water Services etc. (Scotland) Act 2005 (Commencement No. 5) Order 2006 (S.S.I. 2006/599).
