It does so by designating East Ayrshire local government area (with certain specified exceptions) as a permitted parking area and as a special parking area in accordance with Schedule3 to the Road Traffic Act 1991 (“the 1991 Act”). The Order applies to the designated area various provisions of the 1991 Act and modifies them where necessary. It also makes consequential modifications to certain provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the 1984 Act”) dealing with parking and related matters.</dc:description><ukm:SecondaryMetadata><ukm:DocumentClassification><ukm:DocumentCategory Value="secondary"/><ukm:DocumentMainType Value="ScottishStatutoryInstrument"/><ukm:DocumentStatus Value="revised"/><ukm:DocumentMinorType Value="order"/></ukm:DocumentClassification><ukm:Year Value="2012"/><ukm:Number Value="137"/><ukm:Made Date="2012-05-10"/><ukm:Laid Date="2012-05-14" Class="ScottishParliament"/><ukm:ComingIntoForce><ukm:DateTime Date="2012-07-01"/></ukm:ComingIntoForce><ukm:ISBN Value="9780111017005"/></ukm:SecondaryMetadata><ukm:Notes><ukm:Note IdURI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/id/ssi/2012/137/notes"/><ukm:Alternatives><ukm:Alternative URI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ssi/2012/137/pdfs/ssien_20120137_en.pdf" Date="2012-05-15" Title="Executive Note" Size="10129"/></ukm:Alternatives></ukm:Notes><ukm:Alternatives><ukm:Alternative URI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ssi/2012/137/pdfs/ssi_20120137_en.pdf" Date="2012-05-15" Size="73008"/></ukm:Alternatives><ukm:Statistics><ukm:TotalParagraphs Value="23"/><ukm:BodyParagraphs Value="6"/><ukm:ScheduleParagraphs Value="17"/><ukm:AttachmentParagraphs Value="0"/><ukm:TotalImages Value="0"/></ukm:Statistics></proprietary></meta><preface eId="preface" uk:target="true"><block name="banner">Scottish Statutory Instruments</block><block name="number"><docNumber>2012 No. 137</docNumber></block><container name="subjects"><container name="subject"><block name="subject"><concept refersTo="#">Road Traffic</concept></block></container></container><block name="title"><docTitle>The Road Traffic (Permitted Parking Area and Special Parking Area) (East Ayrshire Council) Designation Order 2012</docTitle></block><container name="dates"><block name="madeDate" refersTo="#date-made"><span>Made</span><docDate date="2012-05-10">10th May 2012</docDate></block><block name="laidDate" refersTo="#date-laid-1"><span>Laid before the Scottish Parliament</span><docDate date="2012-05-14">14th May 2012</docDate></block><block name="commenceDate" refersTo="#date-cif-1"><span>Coming into force</span><docDate date="2012-07-01">1st July 2012</docDate></block></container></preface><preamble><p>The Scottish Ministers make the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by paragraphs 1(1), 2(1) and 3(3) of Schedule 3 to the Road Traffic Act 1991<authorialNote class="footnote" eId="f00001" marker="1"><p><ref eId="c00001" href="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/id/ukpga/1991/40">1991 c.40</ref>; paragraphs 1(1) and 2(1) of Schedule 3 were relevantly amended by the Local Government <abbr title="et cetera" xml:lang="la">etc.</abbr> (Scotland) Act <ref eId="c00002" href="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/id/ukpga/1994/39">1994 (c.39)</ref>, Schedule 13, paragraph 171.
