The event zone is defined in Schedule 1 by reference to a map that is available for inspection at the offices of the Scottish Government and Glasgow City Council. The Scottish Ministers make the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 19, 20(1), 22(8), 25, 26(1), 28(6) and 37 of the London Olympic Games and Paralympic Games Act 2006 and all other powers enabling them to do so.

The Scottish Ministers have consulted in accordance with sections 20(3) and 26(3) of that Act.

The Scottish Ministers have complied with sections 19(2) and 25(2) of that Act.

 In accordance with sections 20(2) and 26(2) of that Act as modified by section 37(8)(b), a draft of this instrument has been laid before and approved by resolution of the Scottish Parliament. 2006 c.12. Sections 19, 20, 25, 26 and 37 were amended by paragraph 6(1) of the Schedule to the Transfer of Functions (Olympics and Paralympics) Order 2007 (S.I. 2007/2129). Sections 20 and 26 have been modified by schedule 3 to the Interpretation and Legislative Reform (Scotland) Act 2010 (asp10).
