<P><Text Hanging="indented">These Regulations, which are made under the Social Security Act <Citation URI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/id/ukpga/1988/7" id="c00001" Class="UnitedKingdomPublicGeneralAct" Year="1988" Number="0007">1988 (c.7)</Citation>, prescribe the description of food for the operation of the Healthy Start scheme in Scotland. The Healthy Start scheme is a scheme set up by the Secretary of State in the Healthy Start Scheme and Welfare Food (Amendment) Regulations 2005 to provide certain foods for the benefit of qualifying pregnant women, mothers and children.</Text></P>
<P><Text Hanging="indented">Regulation 3 provides that the prescribed description of food for the operation of the Healthy Start scheme in Scotland is as set out in the Schedule to these Regulations. The categories of foods described in the schedule are milk, infant formula and fresh or frozen fruit and vegetables; these categories are subject to the qualifications set out in the Schedule.</Text></P>
