Persons or bodies prescribed for the purpose of approving lay representatives

3.  For the purposes of section 5F(3) of the 1894 Act and section 24E(3) of the 1970 Act, the persons or bodies prescribed, or of a prescribed description, are—

(a)those entered on the register of advice organisations established and maintained by the Scottish Legal Aid Board under section 12A of the Legal Aid (Scotland) Act 1986(1);

(b)those accredited at Type III level against the Scottish National Standards for Information and Advice Providers(2) in the area of competence of mortgages/secured loans;

(c)councils constituted under section 2 of the Local Government etc. (Scotland) Act 1994(3); and

(d)citizens advice bureaux entered in the register of member bureaux maintained by the Scottish Association of Citizens Advice Bureaux – Citizens Advice Scotland(4).
