Coming into force
The Scottish Ministers make the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 46 of the Fire (Scotland) Act 20051 and all other powers enabling them to do so.
Citation, commencement and interpretation1

This Order may be cited as the Grampian Joint Fire and Rescue Board (Specified Equipment) (Scotland) Order 2010 and comes into force on 30th September 2010.

In this Order “Grampian Joint Fire and Rescue Board” means the joint board constituted under paragraph 3 of the North Eastern Combined Fire Services Area Administration Scheme 1995 set out in the Schedule to the North Eastern Combined Fire Services Area Administration Scheme Order 19952.
Use and maintenance of equipment2

Grampian Joint Fire and Rescue Board shall use and maintain the equipment specified in the Schedule to this Order in all vehicles used by officers for the purpose of responding to any emergency incident.

In paragraph (1) “officer” means an officer or other employee of Grampian Joint Fire and Rescue Board whose duties include responding to emergency incidents and who may, from time to time, be required to act as an incident commander.
SCHEDULE
The Digital radio communication system manufactured and supplied by Airwave Solutions Limited, a company incorporated under the Companies Acts and having its registered office at Charter Court, 50 Windsor Road, Slough, Berkshire, SL1 2EJ comprising hands free Service Access Node type “A”, otherwise known as “SAN A”, or portable Service Access Node type “C”, otherwise known as “SAN C”, equipment and all necessary fittings required to ensure that the equipment operates effectively.
