The Scottish Ministers make the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 46 of the Fire (Scotland) Act 2005(1) and all other powers enabling them to do so.
1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Grampian Joint Fire and Rescue Board (Specified Equipment) (Scotland) Order 2010 and comes into force on 30th September 2010.
(2) In this Order “Grampian Joint Fire and Rescue Board” means the joint board constituted under paragraph 3 of the North Eastern Combined Fire Services Area Administration Scheme 1995 set out in the Schedule to the North Eastern Combined Fire Services Area Administration Scheme Order 1995(2).
2.—(1) Grampian Joint Fire and Rescue Board shall use and maintain the equipment specified in the Schedule to this Order in all vehicles used by officers for the purpose of responding to any emergency incident.
(2) In paragraph (1) “officer” means an officer or other employee of Grampian Joint Fire and Rescue Board whose duties include responding to emergency incidents and who may, from time to time, be required to act as an incident commander.

Article 2(1)
The Digital radio communication system manufactured and supplied by Airwave Solutions Limited, a company incorporated under the Companies Acts and having its registered office at Charter Court, 50 Windsor Road, Slough, Berkshire, SL1 2EJ comprising hands free Service Access Node type “A”, otherwise known as “SAN A”, or portable Service Access Node type “C”, otherwise known as “SAN C”, equipment and all necessary fittings required to ensure that the equipment operates effectively.

This Order specifies the digital radio communication equipment that Grampian Joint Fire and Rescue Board is required to maintain and use in all vehicles used by certain officers or other employees of the Board whose duties include responding to emergency incidents. It only applies in relation to officers or other employees who may be required to act as incident commanders.
S.I. 1995/2632. The 1995 Administration Scheme continues to have effect by virtue of section 5(1) of the Fire (Scotland) Act 2005 and the joint fire board constituted by that Scheme is taken to be a joint fire and rescue board by virtue of section 5(2) of that Act.
