The Fundable Bodies (Scotland) Order 2008
In accordance with section 7(1) of that Act, the Scottish Further and Higher Education Funding Council has approved the modifications made in this Order.
In accordance with section 34(4) of that Act, a draft of this instrument has been laid before and approved by resolution of the Scottish Parliament.
Citation and commencement1.

This Order may be cited as the Fundable Bodies (Scotland) Order 2008.

This Order comes into force on 1st January 2009 with the exception of article 2(c) and (d) which comes into force on 25th January 2009.

The Further and Higher Education (Scotland) Act 2005 (“the Act”) established the Scottish Further and Higher Education Funding Council and made provision relating to the funding of bodies which provide further and higher education. Those bodies are described in the Act as “fundable bodies” and are listed in schedule 2 to the Act.
Article 2(a) and (b) updates the list of fundable bodies with effect from 1st January 2009 by amending schedule 2 to the Act to reflect the change of name of Central College of Commerce to Central College Glasgow and to correct an error in the name of Glasgow College of Nautical Studies.
Article 2(c) and (d) updates the list of fundable bodies with effect from 25th January 2009 by amending schedule 2 to the Act to reflect the change of name of Napier University to Edinburgh Napier University on this date.
