This Order is made in exercise of the powers conferred by section 9(6)(d) of the Scottish Commission for Human Rights Act 20061 and all other powers enabling Her Majesty to do so.
In accordance with section 9(7) of that Act a draft of this instrument has been laid before and approved by resolution of the Scottish Parliament.
Accordingly, Her Majesty is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order as follows.
Citation and commencement1

This Order may be cited as the Scottish Commission for Human Rights (Specification) Order 2008.

It comes into force on the day after the day on which it is made.
Specification of international convention2
The United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities adopted by Resolution A/RES/61/106 (13th December 2006) of the General Assembly of the United Nations is specified for the purposes of section 9 (restrictions as to scope of inquiry) of the Scottish Commission for Human Rights Act 2006.
