This Order may be cited as the Designation of Institutions of Higher Education (The Scottish Agricultural College) (Scotland) (No. 2) Order 2008.

Subject to paragraph (3), this Order comes into force on 31st May 2008.

The designation of The Scottish Agricultural College by paragraph (1) shall remain in effect notwithstanding any change of name of that institution.

Article 2 of this Order designates The Scottish Agricultural College as an institution of higher education for the purpose of Part II of the Further and Higher Education (Scotland) Act 1992.
Designation of The Scottish Agricultural College as an institution of higher education has been granted by the Scottish Ministers following a designation audit by the UK Universities' Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education based on a set of criteria in relation to quality set out by the Scottish Government. The audit found that The Scottish Agricultural College satisfied all the criteria.
Article 3 revokes the Designation of Institutions of Higher Education (The Scottish Agricultural College) (Scotland) Order 2008 (S.S.I. 2008/163).
