The Scottish Ministers make the following Order in exercise of the power conferred by section 2 of the Water Services etc. (Scotland) Act 2005(1) and all other powers enabling them to do so.
1. This Order may be cited as the Water Industry Commissioner for Scotland (Dissolution) Order 2007 and comes into force on 1st October 2007.
2. The appointed date for the dissolution of the office of Water Industry Commissioner for Scotland(2) is 1st October 2007.

This Order appoints 1st October 2007 as the date for the dissolution of the office of the Water Industry Commissioner for Scotland (“the Commissioner”). The functions of the Commissioner are now carried out by the Water Industry Commission for Scotland, a body corporate established under section 1 of the Water Services etc. (Scotland) Act 2005 (asp 3).
The Water Industry Commissioner for Scotland was established under section 67A(1) of the Local Government etc. (Scotland) Act 1994 (c. 39) (as inserted by section 12 of the Water Industry Act 1999 (c. 9)) and continued in existence by virtue of section 1(1) of the Water Industry (Scotland) Act 2002 (asp 3).
