Citation

This Order may be cited as the Aquaculture and Fisheries (Scotland) Act 2007 (Commencement and Transitional Provisions) Order 2007.
Appointed day

(1)
Subject to the transitional provisions in articles 3 and 4, the appointed day for the coming into force of the provisions of the Aquaculture and Fisheries (Scotland) Act 2007 (“the Act”) (other than sections 12 and 42 to 45) is 1st August 2007, except for section 35.
(2)
The appointed day for the coming into force of section 35 is 1st August 2008.

This Order provides that the appointed day for the coming into force of the Aquaculture and Fisheries (Scotland) Act 2007 (“the Act”) except sections 12 and 42 to 45 (which came into force on Royal Assent – 5th April 2007) and section 35, is 1st August 2007. The appointed day for the coming into force of section 35 is 1st August 2008.
Articles 3 and 4 contain transitional provisions in relation to the coming into force of section 32 which amends sections 3(3) and 4(7) of the Sea Fisheries (Shellfish) Act 1967 (c. 83), and paragraph (2) of Schedule 6 to the Act which amends section 17 of the Salmon and Freshwater Fisheries (Consolidation) (Scotland) Act 2003.
