The Scottish Ministers, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 2(8) of the Water Environment and Water Services (Scotland) Act 2003(1) and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following Order:
1. This Order may be cited as the Water Environment (Relevant Enactments) Order 2006 and shall come into force on 14th December 2006.
2.—(1) The Water Environment (Controlled Activities) (Scotland) Regulations 2005(2) are specified as a relevant enactment for the purposes of section 2 of the Water Environment and Water Services (Scotland) Act 2003.

This Order specifies the Water Environment (Controlled Activities) (Scotland) Regulations 2005 as a relevant enactment within the meaning of section 2 of the Water Environment and Water Services (Scotland) Act 2003.
The effect of specification is to require the Scottish Ministers and SEPA to exercise their respective functions under those Regulations so as to secure compliance with the requirements of Directive 2000/60/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council(3) and to act in accordance with the requirements of section 2(4) of the Water Environment and Water Services (Scotland) Act 2003.
