The Scottish Ministers, having received relevant proposals, having taken into consideration the need for conservation, having carried out all necessary consultations, and being satisfied that the implementation of the proposals will result in a significant increase in the availability of fishing for freshwater fish in the inland waters to which the proposals relate and that such fishing will be available in those waters to a degree and on such terms and conditions as they consider reasonable, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 48(1) of the Salmon and Freshwater Fisheries (Consolidation) (Scotland) Act 20031 and all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following Order:

Citation and commencement1

This Order may be cited as the Assynt – Coigach Area Protection Variation Order 2006 and shall come into force on 6th October 2006.

Variation of the Assynt – Coigach Area Protection Order 20042

Article 1(2) of the Assynt – Coigach Area Protection Order 20042 is omitted.

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order varies the Assynt – Coigach Area Protection Order 2004 (S.S.I. 2004/260) (“the 2004 Order”) by omitting article 1(2) of the 2004 Order, which provided that the 2004 Order would cease to have effect on 7th October 2006. The effect of this variation is to continue the 2004 Order in force without limit of time.
