The Housing (Scotland) Act 2006 (Commencement No. 3) Order 2006

The Scottish Ministers, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 191(2) and 195(3) of the Housing (Scotland) Act 20061, hereby make the following Order:

Citation1

This Order may be cited as the Housing (Scotland) Act 2006 (Commencement No. 3) Order 2006.

Commencement of Provisions2

The day appointed for the coming into force of the provisions of the Housing (Scotland) Act 2006 specified in Column 1 of the Table below is as shown in Column 2, but where a particular purpose is specified in relation to any provision in Column 3, that provision shall come into force on that day only for that purpose.

This Order brings into force on 5th July 2006 amendments to the Antisocial Behaviour etc. (Scotland) Act 2004 (asp 8) giving power to introduce the Letting Code and in connection with matters to be considered in deciding whether a person is a fit and proper person to act as a landlord. It also brings into force on that day provisions to encourage equal opportunities, to bind the Crown and interpretation provisions.

This Order also brings into force on 4th December 2006 provisions allowing for the adaptation of rented houses and associated appeals.
