The Annual Close Time (Esk Salmon Fishery District) Order 2005

Coming into force

The Scottish Ministers, on application to them by the River Esk District Salmon Fishery Board, having consulted and directed that notice be given in accordance with paragraphs 3 and 4 of Schedule 1 to the Salmon Act 19861 as applied by section 6(6) of that Act and having considered all representations and objections duly made and not withdrawn, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 6(3) of that Act and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following Order:

Citation, commencement and cessation1

This Order may be cited as the Annual Close Time (Esk Salmon Fishery District) Order 2005 and shall come into force on 16th February 2005.

This Order shall cease to have effect at midnight on 15th February 2010.

Annual close time and period permitted for salmon fishing by rod and line2

For the Esk Salmon Fishery District2

a

the dates of the annual close time shall be 1st September to 30th April, both dates inclusive; and

b

the periods within that time when it is permitted to fish for and take salmon by rod and line shall be–

i

1st September to 31st October, both dates inclusive; and

ii

16th February to 30th April, both dates inclusive.

This Order, which ceases to have effect at midnight on 15th February 2010, prescribes the dates of the annual close time for the Esk Salmon Fishery District as 1st September to 30th April, both dates inclusive, and thereby replaces the previous dates which were 1st September to 15th February, both dates inclusive. This Order also prescribes 1st September to 31st October, both dates inclusive, and 16th February to 30th April, both dates inclusive, as the period within that annual close time during which fishing for salmon by rod and line is permitted.
