The Scottish Ministers, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 19721 and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement1.
These Regulations may be cited as the Avian Influenza (Preventive Measures in Zoos) (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 2005 and shall come into force on 23 January 2006.
Amendment to regulation 8 of the Avian Influenza (Preventive Measures in Zoos) Regulations 20052.
In regulation 8(1) (penalties and time limits) of the Avian Influenza (Preventive Measures in Zoos) Regulations 20052 for “six” substitute “three”.

These Regulations correct an error in regulation 8 (penalties and time limits) of the Avian Influenza (Preventive Measures in Zoos) (Scotland) Regulations 2005 by reducing the maximum term of imprisonment, on summary conviction, for offences under the principal Regulations, from six months to three months.
