The Registrar General, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 21(4), 22(1), 32(1) and 54(1)(b) of the Registration of Births, Deaths and Marriages (Scotland) Act 19651 and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf and with the approval of the Scottish Ministers under section 54 of that Act2, hereby makes the following Regulations:

Citation, commencement and interpretation

These Regulations may be cited as the Registration of Births, Still-births, Deaths and Marriages (Prescription of Forms) (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 2005 and shall come into force on 5th December 2005.

(2)

In these Regulations, “the principal Regulations” means the Registration of Births, Still births, Deaths and Marriages (Prescription of Forms) (Scotland) Regulations 19973.

Amendment of the principal Regulations

2.

For the form set out in Schedule 8 to the principal Regulations substitute the form set out in Schedule 1 to these Regulations.

3.

For the form set out in Schedule 10 to the principal Regulations substitute the form set out in Schedule 2 to these Regulations.

4.

For the form set out in Schedule 17 to the principal Regulations substitute the form set out in Schedule 3 to these Regulations.

These Regulations amend the Registration of Births, Still-Births, Deaths and Marriages (Prescription of Forms) (Scotland) Regulations 1997.

A revised form of Certificate of Registration of Still-birth is substituted to enable more detail to be provided.

Revised Death and Marriage register pages are substituted to reflect the changes brought about by the Civil Partnership Act 2004 (c. 33).
