The Scottish Ministers, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 1, 7 and 23(f) and (g) of the Animal Health Act 1981(1), and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following Order:
1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Diseases of Animals (Approved Disinfectants) Amendment (No. 2) (Scotland) Order 2005 and shall come into force on 21st November 2005.
(2) This Order extends to Scotland only.
2. The Diseases of Animals (Approved Disinfectants) Order 1978(2) is amended as follows–
(a)in article 6(2), for “28th February 2005” substitute “20th February 2006”(3);
(b)for Schedule 1 to the 1978 Order (approved disinfectants) substitute the Schedule set out in Schedule 1 to this Order; and
(c)for Schedule 2 to the 1978 Order (approved disinfectants subject to transitional provisions) substitute the Schedule set out in Schedule 2 to this Order.
3.—(1) In article 2(1) of the Diseases of Animals (Approved Disinfectants) Amendment (Scotland) Order 2003(4), sub paragraphs (e) and (f) are revoked.
(2) The Diseases of Animals (Approved Disinfectants) Amendment (Scotland) Order 2004(5) is revoked.
(3) The Diseases of Animals (Approved Disinfectants) Amendment (Scotland) Order 2005(6) is revoked.

(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order, which extends to Scotland only, amends the Diseases of Animals (Approved Disinfectants) Order 1978 by substituting Schedules 1 and 2 to that Order (article 2). Schedule 1 lists disinfectants approved by the Scottish Ministers and Schedule 2 lists disinfectants which, although no longer approved, may continue to be used as approved disinfectants until 20th February 2006.
This Order was notified in draft to the European Commission in accordance with Directive 98/34/EC, as amended by Directive 98/48/EC.
A regulatory impact assessment has not been prepared.
