sections 8 and 9 were amended by the Succession (Scotland) Act <ref eId="c00002" href="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/id/ukpga/1973/25">1973 (c. 25)</ref>, section 1(1); section 9 was relevantly amended by the Law Reform (Miscellaneous Provisions) (Scotland) Act <ref eId="c00003" href="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/id/ukpga/1980/55">1980 (c. 55)</ref>, section 4.
