Explanatory Note
(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order, which extends to Scotland only, amends the Diseases of Animals (Approved Disinfectants) Order 1978 by substituting Schedules 1 and 2 to that Order (article 2). Schedule 1 provides an updated list of disinfectants approved by the Scottish Ministers. Schedule 2 lists disinfectants which can continue to be used as approved disinfectants until 28th February 2005.
This Order was notified in draft to the European Commission in accordance with Directive 98/34/EC (O.J. No. L 204, 21/07/98, p.37) as amended by Directive 98/48/EC (O.J. No. L 217, 05/08/98, p.18).
A Regulatory Impact Assessment has not been prepared in respect of this Order.
